before or after purchase
I want you to begin thinking about missed opportunities to save money. Start a dialogue with anyone who is up for a savings challenge. Begin discussions with questions regarding reoccurring expense as well as major expenditures. Create possible scenarios such as using “what if I were getting ready to buy a car; what would you recommend?” What about, if I were going to take a vacation to a specific place; what would you advise?
Believe it or not, many people who make purchases, take the trip, or spend and afterwards announce their transactions, only to discover they could have saved considerably by boldly communicating their intent to another. There are family, friends, co-workers and more who tend to talk behind the backs of others when they see frivolous spending that could have been avoided if the purchaser would have spoken up, mentioned their intent to buy a service, product, etc. The time is now to strategize on what steps you will take going forward to avoid over spending. The time is now to take away impulses of privacy that are not necessary; that can lead to overspending. Get your deals, make known your purchase desires and watch someone present possible savings. Savings can actually happen often to those brave enough to open up and share the plans to make a purchase or spend especially with major purchases. Conversations before the purchase often prove to be more rewarding than chats after the buy.
